It is very interesting how people can be sometimes. There are the builders and there are the destroyers and then there are the very special group which are the builder-destroyers.

The first group the builders are easily understood because they work hard at building something and are never afraid to ask for help in the building of whatever it is they are trying to build.

The second group the destroyers is also easily understood because everyone can easily see that their mission is to destroy whatever they can whenever opportunity presents itself, some are more intent then others and they go looking for anything they find just so they can destroy it.

The most dangerous group of all is the builder-destroyers these are the ones that are hard to see and understand. They are usually very good at building and getting people to work with them to build the project they are working at. They have a great “gift of appearance” they are great talkers and are usually very good at convincing people that what they are doing is going to benefit the community. This statement is normally what swings people into believing them. They make it appear that you as a person who was asked to join in and help are also making decisions or helping to make decisions when in reality behind your back they are changing what was agreed upon as a group.

Because you as a person who joined in believe that what you are trying to do is for the good of all you continue to work to what you believe is what the group as a whole is working toward.

SUDDENLY…… Wake-up call!!!!

You start to actually pay attention. You start to notice that this great person (who by the way, does not believe in lying, swearing, cheating, and maybe even stealing (unless it is someone else doing it for him)is actually not just a builder but also a destroyer!!! You start to notice that he is pushing people who were great for the group away from the group, these good hard working people are finding it impossible to work with the “destroyer” side of this builder and the group dwindles from dozens to less than ten and these remaining people are having doubts but some of them appear to be afraid of this “builder-destroyer”, it almost appears that this builder-destroyer has something that he is holding over the heads of some of these people.

In the early 1960’s I knew a and old gentlemen who happened to be in the Yukon during the gold rush, he was a good man who believed in God, he was also illiterate but even with his illiteracy he was a brilliant man, he would tell me stories of the “Old days” how people helped one another, but there was usually one around that just out for himself and use others to his advantage, this type of person was the one who would be sure to attend the religious service whenever it was available on Sunday and he would also try to show up everyone else by making a big donation, perhaps trying to pay off the sins of the week. This was the type of person that the old man and all the other “honest men” out there were afraid of, he could quote from the bible, but only what was convenient and suited his purpose. This is the type of man that was a builder-destroyer even at that time.

What is very interesting about this builder-destroyer is that one of the ways he has been pushing people away is by forcing them to do what he himself  has never shown that he can do himself, in my belief this is extremely hypocritical, the worse of it is that he kept pushing until it became too much and more people abandoned the group.

The next big step was when this builder-destroyer was asked to produce financial records for a project which he was working on he refused to do so. This set other people in motion and wondering what was really going on, why not show the financial records? If there is nothing wrong going on there is no reason to keep from producing them for the group. Yet the “fearful people” did not say anything, WHY? The only thought that came from this for those who were not afraid was that he must (1) be hiding something about the money and (2) it appears very obvious that he must certainly have something that he can hold against these fearful people, they are basically very honest people, perhaps they made some mistake and were unfortunate enough to be caught by him.

All of a sudden it becomes very clear that it is not what the group as a whole wants or even what the greatest majority of the group wants that matters, it most definitely is not anything remotely to what would be considered a “community service”, but what really is in play here is “I am a founder”, “I have built this built this”  (no consideration for the others who helped to build), “therefore what I want and need is what happens, if you don’t like it I will cause the destruction of what I have built”.

It should have been very obvious, people had warned some of the group about this builder-destroyer, he had gone through great measures to attempt to destroy a group that he was previously with, he did not succeed so he went to great lengths to belittle the people from the previous group. The only thing is that when properly examined, everything that he was saying about the people from the other group is exactly what he was doing and what he was capable of doing and did.

It became very obvious that he has no ability to do something original, but he is great at copying what others do and take the credit and even put his name to their work.

The page you have just completed reading is fact and the people involved know who they are. I just thought that I would post this so that if there any others out there who have fallen prey to these “builder-destroyers” you can hopefully get some ideas from here on how to avoid them or perhaps even stop them. I did, I confronted the him.
